Olympia Body Transformation Sanctuary is no ordinary gym. The vision for Olympia is noble and modern. A place grounded in respect, free of judgement and fitted out with clean, top of the range equipment. SMAI are proud to have been selected by Olympia to join them on the journey to create and design their groundbreaking gym. Who else has a playground slide in their gym? Only at Olympia!
SMAI guided the Olympia team through the design and construction of two showstopping equipment pieces. A custom-designed boxing ring is the centrepiece of the gym. SMAI worked collaboratively with Olympia to provide design mockups so the team at Olympia could visualise their dream gym before it was realised.
The second and more discreet piece of equipment is a custom-designed and engineered, roof-mounted punching bag rig. A unique challenge to Olympia, with low overhead clearance, they did not want to compromise on their fit-out. A full boxing bag rig was going to be essential. In an SMAI first, we designed and engineered a roof-mounted, overhead rig for 8 punching bags. The design is space-saving, aesthetically superior and met the clients' needs - a no-compromise rig in a challenging space.

The genius of the design is that you don't notice it. That's the point! The overhead rig allowed a full punching bag station in a zone with limited overhead height, something that would have been impossible with a standard free standing rig.

A custom-designed, on-brand boxing ring was to be the core of Olympia's sanctuary. Matching Olympia's own brand colours and logo, every training session is a reminder of the power and strength of Olympia's brand.

Recognising Olympia's strong brand, we used the alternate logo to run down the length of a 6ft punching bag - and the results speak for themselves. Not only an essential part of training, but the bags also function as 6ft high billboards for Olympia. With every bag strike, Olympia's members are reminded that this is no ordinary gym, it's a sanctuary. And that's a powerful, member retaining moment.
